I'm Happy and Pissed at the Same Time [25 Jul 2001|12:46am] After a little convincing, I decided to go bowling with Mike tonight. I am awfully glad I did. Here are the games I bowled. - 129 - 165 - 121 - 138 - 184 - 193 The only reason I am pissed is because I could've easily broke 200, but I missed an easy spare in the 8th frame. But I'm very happy at the same time because I reached my goal twice tonight. I told Mike I couldn't let him have the highest score for more than 24 hours. Now my new goal is the once impossible 200. It Ain't No Thang [24 Jul 2001|01:23am] Even though I bowled really shitty tonight, I'm kind of glad I did bad. Because we won anyway, so there would be no point for me to bowl really well and increase my average. Now my handicap will probably go up a little, allowing me to kick ass even more next week. Bowling is Fun [23 Jul 2001|12:02pm] Last night Mike and I went to the bowling alley in Denton for cosmic bowling from 8 to 10. Mike started out pretty well, but tinkered out towards the end. I think he ended up with like a 118 average over 7 games. I started bowling with a 14 lb. ball and improved my game quite a bit. I ended up with a 138 average over 7 games. My games were as follows: 171, 152, 143, 135, 128, 124, 115. I should've broke 180, but I fucked it up in the 9th frame. When we first started bowling we noticed this big ass cut in Mike's ball, so he went and complained and we switched lanes. They told him to go by the pro shop after we got done bowling and they would try to fix it. But the cut was too deep and they said it probably couldn't be fixed. They also said if he bitched to the pro shop manager they would probably get him a new ball. I'm so goddamned excited to see how I bowl tonight with a 14 lb. ball. 2 comments|post comment

Been a While... [21 May 2001|04:15pm] I went to IKEA in Houston yesterday. It was one of those bad luck kind of days. We took my truck and Mike's grandfather's truck. My parents were driving my truck. And me, Mike, Lisa, and Allison were following in the SprotTrac. We were just entering Conroe, about 30 miles North of Houston, and smoking started billowing from underneath my truck. At first I thought it was a blown tire, because my front tires are very bad. But it turns out the front seal between the transmission and the torque converter blew. And it was leaking transmission fluid. Luckily my truck's transmission had been worked on lately and was still under warranty. So we took it to an AAMCO in Conroe and drove into Houston in the SportTrac. After finishing up at IKEA, we stopped by the airport and picked up a rental car and started the drive home. We ended up getting home around 10pm, we had earlier planned on getting home at 6pm, but, shit happens. So right now my truck is sitting at an AAMCo in Conroe and I plan on going to get it sometime later this week. But the good news is that I'm go to see Tom Petty tonight. I am HAPPY! post comment

Not Much Happnin' [08 May 2001|12:40pm] [ mood | bored ] [ music | Weezer - Suzanne ] I'm rather bored. Just sitting here at work, staring at a blank computer sceen. Well, there's a few little icons and whatnot, but other than that its blank. So, I figured I'd write a little shiznit in my journal. I have a couple little things to say: 1. I am very excited about my recent purchase, which hasn't arrived yet. It is a Bowflex. Yes, Yes, I actually bought a Bowflex. Its amazing isn't it. I even splurged for the XTLU model which is the ultimate Bowflex. Needless to say, I am excited about my new toy. After a few months with this puppy, I'll be able to kick anyone's ass. heh. 2. I also bought a new digital camcorder last weekend. It was really expensive, a whopping $1250 to be exact. But I bought it at Fry's so I'm planning on taking it back. It's a Canon Optura Pi, and I'm pretty impressed. The one thing that I really like about it is it has an optical image stabilizer which is tons better than most camcorders that have crappy digital image stabilizers. Its basically the same difference between optical and digital zoom. Another thing thats cool about this camera is that it has the option to shoot in progressive scan mode, which looks really nice. I also like its really big LCD screen. But I don't like it enough to spend $1250 on it, so I'm gonna take it back in a few days. I think I'm going to opt for just a digital still camera instead of the camcorder. I'm lookin at the Nikon Coolpix 990, which looks pretty cool. I'm a pretty big Nikon fan, right now I'm using my dad's old, but still superior, Nikon F2. Its 30 years old and still takes better pictures than most SLR's. But I really want a digital camera, so I'll probably get a the Coolpix 990 or the very impressive Olympus 3030. I just can't make up my mind. OK, enough rambling for now. 4 comments|post comment

Probably because I actually studied, I read eight chapters in eight hours, I'm quite the speed reader. Big, Big Suck [05 May 2001|04:01pm] [ mood | aggravated ] [ music | Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees ] Yesterday evening I figured out what was wrong with my computer, which hasn't worked for a few days. I noticed that the die on my CPU was slightly discolored on one corner. Through all of my repeated heatsink and waterblock changes, I must have just worn down the protective coating on the die. I guess I'll have to get a new processor, although I'm not sure which speed I'm going to get. I had a 600 Duron that was OCed to 800. I'll probably just get a 750 Duron, I think they're about $35. Then I'll probably get one of the new Palomino processors when they come out later this month. Right now I'm just using my laptop to do everything. post comment

Woohoo for me! [03 May 2001|09:33pm] [ mood | exhausted ] [ music | Hum - Apollo ] After months of reading other people's LiveJournals, I figured it was time for me to start mine. Contrary to popular belief, my life is quite boring. But what the hell, I have nothing better to do. I just got back from visiting my parent's house in Keller. I work over in Southlake, so I usually stop by and eat dinner with them. Right now I'm am surprisingly tired. I actually did something at work today. I work at a company called Webmodal, that was recently purchased by Enron. We are in the process of moving everything down to Houston, so right now they've locked down all of the code and nobody really has anything to do. Today I had to go around the whole office and match computers with licenses of Office 2000 and Windows 2000. Boy, was that the most fun I've ever had. I also had to move office furniture around, which was actually quite refreshing. I really like manual labor once in a while. At this exact moment I am finishing up some Computer Science Labs that I have to turn in tomorrow. But, to my excitement, that lab is the only class I have tomorrow. This week being "Dead Week," everything is pretty dead. Another exciting entry into my life is my sister's new dog, Xena. We got her a couple of weeks ago at puppy farm in Argyle. She is a cute little Chihuahua. She is a very cute puppy, but is a big handful. I had better get back to my homework. 2 comments|post comment
